Why are we excited: Within the structure of traditional repertoire we have embarked on a journey to speak our minds and let our voices be heard in our upcoming online performance Living Color!!
Ramya Ramnarayan along with experienced, passionate group of talented musicians have teamed up to present to you new work both in traditional collection and gives space to relevant narratives that is almost never dealt with in Indian classical arts: that of dealing with colorism from the lens of her own experiences using ancient poetry and verses spoken by composers who have shaped ideas for generations till this day. We travel from Vyasa who authored the extraordinary epic Mahabaratha to Bharathi a revolutionary prolific writer who boldly spoke about discrimination, casteism, colorism, and women liberation to mention a few. The program covers a spectrum of works by Vyasa, Kshetrayya, Arunagiri Nadar, Leela Suka and many more journeying through Telugu, Sanskrit and Tamil languages.
